In the clip a man says he perpetrated a massive fraud involving the United States government and NASA and tells an off camera interviewer that the moon landing was fake, framing it as something the public deserves to know. The footage has been identified as a fabricated mockumentary from 2015, attributed to T. Patrick Murray, and the man shown is not actually Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick's daughter Vivian has publicly denied her father had any part in faking the moon landing. The clip still gets shared as if it were a real confession, which shows how convincing a staged interview can look once it is cut and captioned to pass as genuine history.
